If you are looking to gain hands-on experience supporting individuals recovering from mental disorder, we offer variety of program that requires the help and facilitation of the volunteers. You may look through our website to learn about what we do, who we support, and how you can give back to the community.
Our rehabilitation program, public education events and the editorial work of MMHA bulletin would need the support of volunteers to ensure our capability to reach out to the public to create mental health awareness and advocate for the welfare of people with mental illness.
In the email, please advice what kind of activities/services you would like to provide. Eg, Art therapy, Drama class, Sign Language and etc.
Note: The minimum of the serving duration is 3 months (excluding ad hoc project).
We are currently looking for volunteers to help out in our community project (Baking Project). (Mondays – Wednesday 10am-3pm & Friday, 10am-3pm). [ad hoc project]
Internship is unpaid, and the minimum internship period is 3 months.
Working hour: 9.00am – 5.00pm
*preferably students from psychology/counselling course
We hope students to have a better insight/understanding about mental health issue in our society. We highly encourage students to take the initiative to interact with our clients, to get a hand-on experience with mentally ill people.
During the internship program, students are mainly required to:
- Research relevant activities to be conducted with the clients
- Submit weekly observational & care plan report
- Complete a case study
- Run community project
- Administration task
- Ad hoc project when necessary
- Internship application form (download from our website)
- Resume & cover letter which outlines your goals of internship
- Academic transcript / Result statement (Up to date)
- Relevant letters from the university / college
- Reference (Optional)
For master’s students who like to apply your practicum in MMHA, the minimum of the internship period is 3 months, preferably 6 months. You should commit to be in MMHA at least two days a week (weekdays 9am-4pm). If you are interested, please submit the relevant documents to email@example.com.
